November 1 is the day after Halloween - the morning when the veil is at its thinnest. That felt like exactly the right time to gather. Come as you are, or come as whatever you were last night.

Make-your-own-monster and mask decorating with art therapist Ilayda Koenigsberger, ATR-P, plus magic glitter jars next door with Mobile Art Teacher. Little ones in costume especially welcome.
An altar built in front of the stage, 11:30a, with Frances Valenzuela of Bee and Rose. Bring a photograph of someone you love and place it on the altar. Details below.
Dozens of local makers, healers and small businesses, plus movement, sound and music through the day. Free, like always.
Join us for an immersive Day of the Dead altar ceremony honoring and remembering those who have passed. Dressed traditionally, Frances Valenzuela of Bee and Rose will build an altar in front of the stage with photographs, candles, lights and meaningful elements, sharing the significance behind the tradition as it takes shape.
Guests will receive a carnation to place on the altar in remembrance of someone they love, and will take home a marigold and a candle to light at their own moment of remembrance.
Bring a photograph. If you'd like to place a picture of a loved one who has passed on the altar during the ceremony, bring it with you.

Breast cancer runs in my family. I have watched it touch people I love most, and I have watched what it asks of them. I have also watched early detection save someone in my family, and I truly believe it is the only reason they are still here.
That is the whole reason this day is built the way it is. Not pink for the sake of pink, and not awareness as a word on a banner. A surgeon who will answer any question you have, for free, with no appointment. A tent where you can sit down with people who have been through it. Self-exam cards you can take home and actually hang in your shower.
If you have been putting off a question, or a scan, or a conversation with your family about what runs in yours, come on the 4th. Ask someone. It takes one morning.

Rachel is an award-winning writer, speaker, podcaster and breast cancer survivor who will never stop talking about early detection and self-advocacy. She has appeared on NPR, The Doctors, The Tamron Hall Show and The Kelly Clarkson Show, and her book, Breast Case Scenario: A Cautionary Tale of Early Detection, Survivorship, and Advocacy, comes out this spring from Post Hill Press. She serves on Right Scan Right Time’s Patient Leadership Council, is an ambassador and peer supporter for Sharsheret, and teaches public speaking at Palm Beach State College.

Tracy is a BRCA2 previvor, advocate and educator, and the founder of BRCAStrong. She began facing breast health concerns at 18, and at 21 learned she carried a BRCA2 mutation. Rather than let that risk define her, she made difficult preventative decisions and built a community so others would never have to navigate the same path alone. Her work has been recognized with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award. Her message is simple: education empowers, community strengthens, and no one should navigate their journey alone.

Dr. Wu is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon and the owner of Privé Plastic Surgery in Boca Raton. She trained at Stanford, the University of Chicago and MD Anderson Cancer Center, then spent years at the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned early promotion to Professor of Surgery and served as Director of Microsurgery and Vice Chair of Clinical Operations. She also completed a breast surgical oncology fellowship at Penn, making her one of the few surgeons in the country with expertise in both the surgical management of breast cancer and reconstruction after it.

Brie has had a deeply personal connection to breast cancer throughout her life. Her grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer, and during college, breast cancer awareness was the philanthropy supported by her sorority. Over the years she has taken part in numerous breast cancer walks and events and shared the stories of survivors, including interviewing Hoda Kotb of the TODAY Show. Supporting those impacted by breast cancer has remained a meaningful part of Brie's journey, which makes bringing yoga to this day especially significant.
